What if my provider recommends something I wasn’t expecting?

I would be selling a dream if I told you this never happens. Birth is unpredictable, and sometimes your provider will recommend something you didn't see coming. This doesn’t have to mean that your power is stripped from you. In the moments where this occurs, I make sure you understand the recommendation and your options. This sometimes looks like giving you the right questions to ask, sometimes it looks like explaining it plainly, and sometimes it looks like asking for time for you to process before you make a decision. No matter the recommendation, as your doula, I help you understand.

How involved are you before my due date?

Well, we will have at least two childbirth education sessions, two prenatal sessions, bi-weekly check-ins, and that’s just the minimum. I like to make sure you feel supported, and in order to do that we have to talk! What that means in practice is you're never more than a few days away from hearing from me.

Will my doula be present during delivery?

I don't believe in sending a stranger to one of the most important moments of your life. I include a Sister Doula in every package. She shows up to one prenatal and this helps break the ice JUST IN CASE she has to show up to support you during labor.

How do I know we’re the right fit?

Honestly, my clients can feel that they’re my clients during the consultation. I work best with mamas who want to be informed and involved, not just supported. If you don’t feel it, it’s okay! The perfect doula for you is out there.

Does a doula replace a midwife or doctor?

I tell my clients to think of me as your coach. I make sure you feel prepared for “game day”. Your midwife or doctor is the referee. They make sure everything is going as it should while I’m encouraging you, and making sure your head stays in the game.

What if I’m in my third trimester?

First of all, WELCOME!!! It’s not too late! I’ve had many mamas book in the third trimester. In these circumstances, our meetings will be booked close together to ensure you still receive all of the information I have to share before baby arrives.

How can I pay for your services?

You are more than welcome to pay in-full or utilize the flexible payment plans I have available. I accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA, Zelle, and Cashapp payments.

I can’t afford your services. Are there other options?

Yes! I’m glad you asked. I offer childbirth education to ensure you still have the knowledge to feel prepared. I go a step beyond your solo research to make it plain for you. I also offer virtual doula services. Either way, you’re not walking into your birth alone. When you complete the inquiry form, just click childbirth education and I’ll make sure we connect.

Do you work with clients outside of the Dallas area?

I do! I’ve served mamas in Houston, San Antonio, Washington D.C., and South Africa! How? Well, my virtual package can be booked by mothers outside of Dallas. If my physical presence is requested outside of the Dallas area, there is an additional charge.

I don’t need a doula right now, but I would like to donate to help a woman who does. How do I make a donation?

Thank you for helping a woman in need. I do have a fund strictly for donations to help provide services for women who need financial assistance. You can donate by clicking here.
